COVID-19 claims 13 more, infects 1,066 in Bangladesh   

Bangladesh logged an additional 13 deaths and 1,066 infections from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours on Friday, counting the death toll to 8,515 and infections to 555,222.

Among the deceased, 12 were male and one female patients.

A Directorate General of Health Services release came up with the latest COVID-19 data.

Some 16,111 specimens were tested in the timeline at 219 labs across the country.

Bangladesh had tested a total of 42,32,139 specimens as of March 12.

A total of 1,252 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 509,172.

Bangladesh on March 8, 2020 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18, 2020.
