COVID-19 claims 26 more, infects 1,773 in Bangladesh

Bangladesh logged an additional 26 deaths and 1,773 infections from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours on Monday, counting the death toll to 8,571 and infections to 559,168.

Among the deceased, 21 were male and five female patients.

A Directorate General of Health Services release came up with the latest COVID-19 data.

Some 18,695 specimens were tested in the timeline at 219 labs across the country.

Bangladesh had tested a total of 42,83,246 specimens as of March 15.

A total of 1,432 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 513,127.

Bangladesh on March 8, 2020 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18, 2020.
