A 35-year man was allegedly shot dead by miscreants in Rajshahi's Bagha upazila last night.
The deceased was identified as Ibrahim Dewan.
Abdul Bari, inspector of Bagha Police Station, said, the murder was the result of previous enmity between "Rashid Bahini" and "Zia Bahini" over establishing dominance in the char areas.
Ibrahim and Mosharraf, supporters of Zia Bahini, were sitting at Choumadia Bazar when followers of Rashid Bahini suddenly appeared on the scene and opened fire, leaving Ibrahim injured.
They also abducted Mosharraf, the police officer said.
Ibrahim was rushed to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival. His body has been sent to the morgue for autopsy, the inspector said.
