Highest daily COVID-19 infections 5000 recorded in Bangladesh

Bangladesh on Monday experienced the highest ever COVID-19 daily infections in since the first reported positive cases on March 8, 2020.

An additional 45 deaths, the highest compared with the past seven months, were logged in the past 24 hours, counting the death toll to 8,949 and infections to 600,895.

Among the deceased, 30 were male and 15 female patients.

A Directorate General of Health Services release came up with the latest COVID-19 data.

Some 28,195 specimens were tested in the timeline at 224 labs across the country.

Bangladesh had tested a total of 46,17,025 specimens as of March 29.

A total of 2,077 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 538,018.

Bangladesh on March 8, 2020 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18, 2020.
