Four persons were killed in a road accident at Goschi Noyahat area on Chattogram-Kaptai road under Raozan police station on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Md Morshed, 38, son of late Shah Alam of Chandgoan area in Chattogram, Kamrul Islam, 27, son of late Abul Kalam of Karnaphuli paper mill area of Kaptai in Rangamati, Md Edris, 55, son of late Lal Mia of Rangunia area in Chattogram and Md Siraj, 40, son of late Delu Majhi of Hatiya area in Noakhali, said officials.
The accident occurred as a truck and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided head on at Goschi Noyahat area at about 2.30 am, Md Anwar Hossain, assistant superintendent (Rangunia) of Chattogram district police, told New Age.
The accident left four auto-rickshaw passengers, including its driver dead on the spot, he said.
Police seized the truck while its driver managed to flee from the scene after the accident, he added.
