The government on Thursday allowed businessmen to keep their shops, shopping malls and markets open for eight hours since 9:00am every day from April 9 and till April 13 following health rules to contain the spread of COVID-19 infection.
The cabinet division made the announcement in an official circular signed by deputy secretary Md Rezaul Islam and warned that appropriate legal actions would be taken if the health rules were not followed.
The office circular said that the vaccination activities would be continued as usual.
The government imposed a weeklong lockdown and ban on opening of shopping malls and markets from April 5.
The businessmen in Dhaka and elsewhere in the country had been demonstrating from the very beginning of the lockdown demanding that the government should allow them to continue their business following health guidelines.
