DoE director general dies with Covid-19

AKM Rafique Ahmed, director general of the Directorate of Environment (DoE), died today with Covid-19 while undergoing treatment at Central Police Hospital in Dhaka. He was 55.

Mohammed Nurullah Nuri, director of Chattogram (Metro) DoE, told The Daily Star that Rafique Ahmed passed away at ICU of the hospital at 4:14am.

He tested positive for Covid-19 around two weeks ago. He was on life support for last two days.

His namaz-a-janaza will be held at Goribullah Shah Mosque in the port city at 3:00pm today where he will be later buried next to his father's grave, Nuri added.
