However, a number of services including the emergency ones, offices and factories are out of the lockdown restrictions in order to keep the economy and life in general moving.

People can also obtain a movement pass to leave home for urgent needs during the lockdown which started Wednesday.

There was some misunderstanding between police and general people, who went out, on Wednesday regarding the movement pass as many were confused about who will and who will not need it.

Under the circumstances, the Police Headquarters Thursday issued a notification, with the list of people who will not need the movement pass during the lockdown. They will be able to go to work by showing their identity cards.

They are:

>> Doctors, nurses and other medical staffs

>> Individuals or staff involved in Covid-19 vaccination or treatment

>> Bankers and bank staffs

>> Journalists and camerapersons

>> Telephone or internet service workers

>> Private security guards

>> Officers or employees involved in emergency services

>> Office-going government officials

>> Workers or officials of industrial mills or garment factories

>> Personnel of law enforcement agencies

>> Fire Service and Civil Defence

>> Postal service

>> Individuals or officials who work for utility services (water, gas, power and fuel)

The notification also asked officials concerned to brief policemen who will be on duty at different check posts over this urgently.

Capital Dhaka on Thursday saw higher number of vehicles on the streets, compared to the first day of the lockdown.

Law enforcers, determined and tirelessly working to maintain the restrictions, were seen checking people for movement pass at all major points of the city.

The scene was mostly the same around the country as well.
