97 Covid-19 deaths recorded in 24 hours

Ninety-seven people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 11,150 and the death rate stands at 1.49 percent.

At least 3,306 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 7,48,628, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 12.82 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.94 percent.

A total of 25,786 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8am today).

At least 4,241 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 6,61,693 and the recovery rate at 88.39 percent.

Among the 97 deceased, 61 were men and 36 were women. Of them, one was between 11-20 years old; two were within 21-30 years old; four were within 31-40; 10 were between 41-50; 21 between 51-60; and 69 were above 60 years old, added the release.
