A truck driver and his assistant have been injured as their vehicle collided with a train in Khulna city.
The incident took place at Afil Gate level crossing around 9:45pm on Saturday.
Khan Jahan Ali police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Prabir Kumar Biswas said the Jhenaidah-bound truck laden with cement was trying to cross the level crossing defying the signal.
A Khulna-bound train rammed the truck, dragging it on the railway tracks for about 1,000 yards, he said.
Truck driver Yunus Ali and his assistant Md Hasan were injured and rushed to Phultola Upazila Health Complex, the OC added.
