At least 26 people were killed as a sand-laden bulkhead hit a speedboat on Padma in Madaripur's Shibchar upazila this morning.
Several people were still missing after the accident that occurred around 7am, quoting Inspector Ashiqur Rahman of Banglabazar Ferry Ghat Traffic Police.
Bodies of 25 people were recovered so far while five were rescued alive, the inspector added.
