Pallabi murder case accused killed in ‘gunfight’

An accused in the case of murdering a man at Pallabi in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with members of Rapid Action Battalion in the early hours of Friday.

The accused, Manik, was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with RAB at Eastern Housing area in the capital, said RAB assistant director for media, Emran Khan, told.

Earlier, RAB arrested four people, including former lawmaker and Islami Democratic Party Chairman MA Awal, in the case filed for the hacking the man, Sahin Uddin, to death on May 16 in the capital's Pallabi area.

Sahin, 33, was hacked to death in front of his 7-year-old child in broad daylight. The three other arrested are Hassan, Jahurul Islam Babu, and Sumon Bepari.
