Police on Friday arrested three people who allegedly raped a garment worker at Bayezid Bostami area in Chattogram.
The arrested are: Saifur Rahman Sumon, 28, Mehedi Hasan Jony, 32, and Md Alam, 25, said Md Kamruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Bayezid Bostami Police Station.
Saifur and Mehedi allegedly raped the garment worker at Shershah Colony at about 9:30pm on Thursday while Alam assisted them to commit the crime, the OC said.
Later, the accused took photographs of the victim and threatened her not to disclose the incident to anyone, he said.
The OC said that the victim was later released and she came to the police station, informed the police about the incident and the police arrested the three from Bayezid Bostami area, he added.
The victim was admitted to the one-stop crisis centre at Chattogram Medical College Hospital and a case was under process in this connection, the OC said.
