Police arrested six people for raping a woman on a moving bus at Ashulia in Savar, on the outskirts of Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka Friday night.
The bus of New Bangla Paribahan was seized.
Inspector (investigation) of Ashulia police station Ziaul Islam said that the incident took place on Friday at about 11:00pm near Ashulia Bridge.
Police said that the girl was heading to Tongi in Gazipur from Nabinagar in Dhaka.
All the passengers got off the bus but she was there. The driver took a different route and she was raped by a group one after another, the police inspector said.
He said police arrested six people for raping the woman on Friday night and a case was lodged with the police station early Saturday.
The victim was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for medical test, the police officer said.
