Students demand reopening of edn institutions

A section of students of the University of Dhaka on Sunday demanded reopening of all kinds of educational institutions and residential halls of the university maintaining health measures to curb Covid-19.

The demands came from a protest rally held at the altar of the Anti-terrorism Raju Memorial Sculpture on the campus.

DU Law Department professor and chairman Md Asif Nazrul and associate professor of Persian Language and Literature department Abu Musa Md Arif Billah expressed solidarity with the students.

Around one hundred students from different DU departments attended the rally.

Later, the protesters brought out a procession that ended in front of DU Vice-chancellor’s residence.

The agitating students said that they would bring out a ‘Khatiya Michhil’ on the campus with a symbolic corpse of the Dhaka University administration.

Expressing solidarity with the agitating students, a group of students from different college of DU affiliated seven colleges took position at Nilkhet intersection at around 11:30 am.
