Authorities today extended the strict lockdown in Chapainawabganj amid the spread of Indian Covid-19 variant in the border district.
The existing lockdown will remain in force for seven more days, Chapainawabganj Deputy Commissioner Monjurul Hafiz said during a press briefing today, reports our local correspondent.
On May 24, a seven-day lockdown was imposed in the district in a bid to contain the spread of Covid-19.
Restrictions were put on entering or leaving the district during the lockdown.
