7 more die of Covid-19 at RMCH

Seven more people died at Covid-19 units and intensive care center of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in the past twenty four hours ending Wednesday morning.

RMCH director Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani told that five died of Covid-19 while the rest died with symptoms between Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning.

He said, of the dead, three each were from Chapainawabganj and Rajshahi districts while the rest one was from Notore.

Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani said that a total of 220 patients were taking treatments at the Covid-19 units and ICU of the hospital while 21 new patients were admitted at the covid units in the last 24 hours.

Of the new patients, nine each were from Chapainawabganj and Rajshahi districts, and one each from Natore, Jaypurhat, and Pabna districts.

According to the RMCH sources, not all the patients are being admitted in the Covid ward due to high pressure of patients. Only those with low oxygen levels are being admitted in the Covid units while the rest are being asked to take treatment at home.

Meanwhile, 213 out of 366 samples were tested positive at RMCH on Tuesday.

RMCH deputy director Saiful Ferdous told New Age that 40 out of 94 samples were tested positive in Rajshahi district in the last 24 hours while 173 out of 271 samples were tested positive in Chapainawabganj district.
