Covid-19 killed 36 more people and infected 2,537 others in the past 24 hours until 8:00am on Wednesday
The latest figures take the overall Covid death toll to 12,949 and infections to 817,819 ever since the viral disease emerged on March 8, 2020.
The case positivity rate during the timeline was 12.33 per cent, slightly higher compared with the positivity rate of the previous day.
The daily Covid situation update by Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics.
A total of 20,584 samples have been tested in the past 24 hours, said the DGHS update.
A total of 757,569 Covid patients have so far recovered, said the health update.
The highest number of 10 deaths in the 24 hours was reported in Khulna division.
Among the deceased, 17 are male and 19 are female patients.
