Ongoing closure of schools, colleges extended till June 30

The education ministry has decided to extend the ongoing closure of all secondary and higher secondary educational institutions till June 30, as a preventive measure against further spread of coronavirus.

The decision will also be applicable for Ebtedayee and Qawmi madrasas.

After consultation with concerned advisory committee, the ministry has taken the decision considering the safety and security of students, teachers, employees and guardians as different regions of the country are witnessing a surge in coronavirus cases and partial lockdowns have been imposed.

Earlier, the government had decided to reopen schools and colleges, in phases, from June 13.

PRIMARY SCHOOLS, KINDERGARTENS' CLOSURE ALSO EXTENDED

Primary and mass education ministry has also extended the closure of all government and non-government primary schools and kindergartens till June 30.

Students will stay at home to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and online education will continue during the closure, the ministry said in a statement.
