Covid-19 claimed the lives of 39 more people and infected 1,637 others in the 24 hours until 8:00am on Saturday, said the daily health update by the Directorate General of Health Services.
The test positivity rate rose further over the 24 hours reporting period with 14.12 per cent samples tested during the time turning positive for Covid-19, said the DGHS update.
A total of 11,590 samples were tested during the 24 hours.
The new figures take the overall number of Covid deaths to 13,071 and infections to 824,486 ever since Covid-19 emerged on March 8, 2020.
The highest number of 11 deaths in the 24 hours was reported from Khulna division.
