Young Islamic preacher among four go missing at Gabtoli

Whereabouts of a young Islamic preacher, Abu Taw Haa Muhammad Adnan, and his three companions were not know since their arrival in Gabtali area in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka from Rangpur.

The Darussalam police investigators said that they got verbal complain about the incident, collected his last mobile phone call location after a man approached the police station with the missing complaint that their phones were switched off from 2:36am on June 11 after they had reached Gabtoli.

The Darussalam police station officer-in-charge Tofael Ahmed said that the last call location of the man was showed in Rangpur at 3:17pm on June 10.

‘We have examined CCTV footages [at Gabtali] but we found nothing so far,’ he added.

Adnan’s family confirmed the missing and said that they were threatened to delete posts from social media platforms regarding his missing.

His wife Sabaqun Nahar said that her husband had shared that his last location at about 2:37am on June 11 when he was in Gabtoli area.

Since then, they were out of communication, she said.

She said the Darussalam police station did not record any missing complaint but a general diary of his mother was recorded with the Rangpur police station.
