Five persons, including former president of Uttara Club Limited Nasir U Mahmud, who were arrested yesterday after actress Pori Moni filed a case over attempted rape and murder, have been sued under Narcotics Control Act.
Manik Kumar Sikder, a sub-inspector of detective's Gulshan zonal team, filed the case with Airport Police Station last night, said Iftekhairul Islam, additional deputy commissioner (Media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
They will be produced before a Dhaka court this afternoon, he told.
The four other accused are: Tuhin Siddique Omi (33), Lipi Akter (18), Sumi Akter (19), and Nazma Ameen Snigdha (24).
Two of the five persons are FIR-named accused in the case filed with Savar Police Station by actress Pori Moni over attempted rape and murder at a club on June 8.
A team of detectives yesterday carried out a raid at a house in Uttara Sector-1 and made the arrests after Savar police sought help from Dhaka Metropolitan Police in this regard, Harun or Rashid, joint commissioner (North) of Detective Branch of DMP, said earlier.
Detectives filed the case under Narcotics Control Act as they recovered local and foreign liquor and 1,000 pieces of yaba from their possession during the drive, police officials said.
