Twelve more patients died at the Covid units of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in past 24 hours ending Friday morning.
Of the deceased, six were positive for Covid-19 and the rest ones died with symptoms of Covid infection, RMCH director Brigadier Shameem Yazdany told.
He said that five of the dead were from Rajshahi district, three from Naogoan district, and two each from Chapainawabganj, and Natore districts.
According to RMCH officials, a total of 183 patients died in the Covid units of the hospital in the ongoing month while 102 were Covid positive patients.
Brigadier Shameem Yazdany said that 41 new patients were admitted to the hospital’s Covid units in the past 24 hours while a total of 349 patients were taking treatment at the units, now having 309 beds.
He said that they had tested samples of 561 people in two PCR labs in the last 24 hours and confirmed 220 new cases of Covid-19.
