37 die in Covid units in Rajshshi, Khulna, Satkhira

A total of 37 patients died in the Covid units of hospitals in Khulna, Rajshshi and Satkhira districts in 24 hours till Wednesday morning.

Of them, 13 died in three hospitals in Khulna, 16 died in Rajshahi Medical College Hospital and eight died in Satkhira Medical College Hospital, quoting officials, reported.

Of the 37, 25 were Covid positive patients and 12 died with symptoms of Covid-19.

In Khulna, six Covid positive patients died at the Covid Dedicated Hospital operated by Khulna Medical College Hospital, quoting the hospital’s resident medical officer Suhas Chandra Halder.

Six more Covid positive patients died in Gazi Medical College Hospital, said the hospital’s chairman Gazi Mizanur Rahman.

Khulna Sadar Hosptal’s Covid unit in-charge Kazi Abu Rashed said that one more patient died in his unit in the past 24 hours.

A total of eight patients – four Covid positive patients and four others having symptoms of Covid-19 – died in the Covid units of Satkhira Medical College Hospital during the time, quoting SMCH superintendent Kudrat-e-Khuda, reported.

Rajshshi reported that sixteen more patients died at the Covid units of RMCH in 24 hours ending Wednesday morning.

Of the deceased, eight were positive for Covid-19 while the rest eight ones died with symptoms of Covid infection, RMCH director Brigadier Shameem Yazdany told.

He said that eight of the dead were from Rajshahidistrict while three were from the boarding district Chapainawabganj, and two each from Natore and Naogaon districts, and one from Jhenaidah district.
