Two persons were dead and at least two, including the driver, were injured after a truck fell off the Moulvibazar-Sreemangal road this morning.
One of the deceased was identified as Abdul Muhid Sabuz, 39, while Identity of another could not be known immediately.
Kanchan Das, a sub-inspector of Moulvibazar Sadar Police Station, said two persons died on the spot while two others were being treated at district Sadar hospital.
The accident occurred around 6:15am at Kodupur area when the driver of a fruit-carrying truck lost control over the wheels on an empty road, Ahmed Zayeef, who witnessed the incident, told.
The truck heading towards the district Sadar from Sreemangal area fell on cropland and overturned, he added.
Police and fire fighters rushed to the spot after Zayeef called 999. The dead and injured were trapped inside the truck and fire fighters had to cut parts of the vehicle to rescue them, he said.
