67 more die at Covid units in 7 districts in Bangladesh

A total of 67 patients died at the Covid units of hospitals in seven districts in Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Friday morning.

The districts are Rajshahi, Khulna, Satkhira, Kushtia, Jhenaidah, Chattogram and Mymensingh.

Of them, 17 died in Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, 11 in three hospitals in Khulna, four in Satkhira Medical College Hospital, seven in Kushtia, 10 in Jhenaidah, four in Chattogram and 14 in Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, quoting officials of the hospitals and health department, reported.

Of the deceased, 44 were Covid positive patients and remaining 23 patients died with symptoms of Covid infection.

Rajshahi Medical College Hospital director Brigadier Shameem Yazdany, reported that 17 more patients including 12 Covid positive patients and five having symptoms died at the Covid units of the hospital in the past 24 hours.

In Khulna, eight patients — seven of them Covid positive and the remaining one having Covid symptoms — died at the Covid Dedicated Hospital, operated by Khulna Medical College Hospital, during the time, the hospital’s resident medical officer Suhas Chandra Halder.

One more Covid positive patients died in Gazi Medical College Hospital, said the hospital’s chairman Gazi Mizanur Rahman.

Two other Covid positive patients died at Khulna General Hospital, said that statistics department of the civil surgeon’s office in Khulna.

The district civil surgeon Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, reported that a total of four Covid positive patients died at hospitals in Chattogram in past 24 hours.

SAMCH superintendent Kudrat-e-Khuda, reported that four patients having Covid symptoms died at the Covid units of the hospital in past 24 hours.

In Kushtia, seven Covid positive patients died at the hospitals in the district, reported in Islamic University of Kushtia, quoting Kushtia Sadar Hospital’s resident medical officer Tapos Kumar Sarkar.

Jhenaidah civil surgeon Selina Begum said that four Covid-positive patients and six others having symptoms died at the Covid unit of Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital in the past 24 hours.

Mymensingh Medical College Hospital’s Covid unit focal person Mohiuddin Khan Moon, reported that a total of 14 more patients died at the Covid unit of MMCH in the past one day until Friday morning.

Of the 14 deceased, seven were Covid positive patients and the remaining seven had Covid symptoms.
