Destiny’s MD shifted to jail from BSMMU after 84 days

Detained Destiny-2000 Limited’s managing director Rafiqul Amin was brought back to the Dhaka Central Jail, Keraniganj after doctors released him from the prison cell of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, 84 days after he was admitted there.

Rafiq was released from the hospital after his series of online meetings with his company officials, using his mobile phone at the prison cell of BSMMU, were found on social media on Thursday.

‘Rafiqul Amin has been discharged from the hospital as the doctors thought that he is better now,’ BSMMU director Brigadier Nazrul Islam Khan told New Age.

The director said that Rafiq was admitted to the hospital on April 11 and he was last under treatment in the urology department.

On Friday night, the jail authorities suspended four chief wardens of the Dhaka Central Jail and initiated departmental proceedings against 13 other jail staff on the allegation of misconduct by allowing Rafiq to join online meetings illegally in the prison cell of BSMMU.
