75 more die at Covid units in seven districts in Bangladesh

A total of 75 patients died at the Covid units of hospitals in seven districts across Bangladesh in 24 hours till Sunday morning.

The districts are Rajshshi, Khulna, Satkhira, Kushtia, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Thakurgaon.

Of them, 12 people died in Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, 15 in three hospitals in Khulna, five in Satkhira Medical College Hospital, 19 in Kushtia General Hospital, 11 in Mymensingh, six in Chattogram and seven died in Thakurgaon.

Of the deceased, 48 were Covid-19 positive patients and remaining 27 patients died with symptoms of Covid-19 infection.

Rajshshi Medical College Hospital director Brigadier Shameem Yazdany, reported that 12 patients — one Covid positive patient and 11 having symptoms — died at the Covid units of the hospital in the past 24 hours.

In Khulna, seven patients — six of them Covid positive patients and the remaining ones having Covid symptoms, died at the Covid Dedicated Hospital, operated by Khulna Medical College Hospital, during the time, quoting the hospital’s resident medical officer Suhas Chandra Halder.

Six more Covid positive patients died in Gazi Medical College Hospital, said the hospital’s chairman Gazi Mizanur Rahman.

Besides, two Covid positive patients died at Khulna General Hospital, said the statistics department of the Civil Surgeon’s office in Khulna.

The district civil surgeon Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, reported that a total of six Covid positive patients died at hospitals in the district in past 24 hours.

Kushtia civil surgeon Anowarul Islam, reported that 13 Covid positive patients and six others having symptoms died at the Covid unit of Kushtia Sadar Hospital in the past 24 hours in the district.

One Covid positive patients and four others having symptoms died at the Covid units in Satkhira Medical College Hospital, the SaMCH superintendent Kudrat-e-Khuda, reported.

A total of 11 patients — six Covid positive patients and five others having symptoms — died at the Covid unit of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, said the units’ focal person Mohiuddin Khan Moon.

UNB reported that a total of seven Covid patients died in Thakurgaon in 24 hours till 8:00am on Sunday.
