122 more die at Covid units in nine districts

A total of 122 patients died at the Covid units of hospitals in nine districts in Bangladesh in 24 hours till Wednesday morning.

The districts are Rajshshi, Khulna, Kushtia, Barishal, Faridpur, Chuadanga, Chattogram, Satkhira and Mymensingh.

Of the deceased, 25 died in Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, 12 in three hospitals in Khulna, nine in Satkhira Medical College Hospital, 12 in Kushtia, 19 in Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, five in Chuadanga, 10 in Chattogram, 16 in Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital and 14 other patients died in Faridpur, New Age correspondents in the districts, quoting officials of the hospitals and health department, reported.

Of the deceased, 58 were Covid positive patients and 64 had symptoms of Covid-19 infection.

New Age Rajshshi University Correspondent, quoting Rajshshi Medical College Hospital director Brigadier Shameem Yazdany, reported that 25 patients — seven Covid positive patients and 18 having symptoms — died at the Covid unit of the hospital in the past 24 hours.

In Khulna, five patients — two Covid positive patients and three having Covid symptoms — died in the Covid Dedicated Hospital, three Covid positive patients died at Gazi Medical College Hospital and four Covid patients died at Khulna General Hospital during the period, New Age correspondent in Khulna, quoting officials of the hospitals, reported.

New Age Islamic University correspondent, quoting Kushtia civil surgeon Anowarul Islam, reported that 12 people — 10 Covid positive patients and two having symptoms — died at Kushtia Sadar Hospital in the past 24 hours.

In Chuadanga, one Covid positive patient and four others having symptoms died at the Covid unit of Chuadanga Sadar Hospital during the time, Chuadanga civil surgeon ASM Maruf said.

New Age correspondent in Satkhira, quoting the SaMCH superintendent Kudrat-e-Khuda, reported that one Covid positive patient and eight others having Covid symptoms died at the Covid unit of the hospital during the period.

Our correspondent in Chattogram, quoting the district civil surgeon Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, reported that a total of 10 Covid positive patients died at hospitals in Chattogram in past 24 hours.

New Age correspondent in Mymensingh, quoting the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital’s Covid unit focal person Mahiuddin Khan Moon, reported that 19 patients — seven Covid positive patients and 12 others having symptoms — died in the Covid units of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital during the time.

Our Correspondent in Barishal, referring to a release by Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital, reported that a total of 16 patients— six Covid positive patients and 10 others having Covid symptoms — died in the hospital’s Covid unit in the past 24 hours ending 8:00am on Wednesday.

During the time, a total of 14 patients — seven Covid positive patients and seven having symptoms — died at Covid units of different hospitals in Faridpur district during the time, the district civil surgeon’s office said.
