Eid holidaymakers continued to endure on the Tangail-Sirajganj route as both sides of the Bangabandhu Bridge are seeing over 22 km long tailback today.

Gridlock extended for about 23 km from the eastern end of Bangabandhu Bridge to Tangil bypass.

On the other hand, a 22 km tailback formed on from the western end of the bridge till Hatikumrul in Sirajganj.

At some points, vehicles were not moving following the traffic congestion.

Cattle traders were seen waiting in the tailback along with the sacrificial animals they were taking to Dhaka from northern districts.

Shajahan Ali, officer-in-charge of Hatikumrul Police Station, said they are working to ease the traffic congestion.

Besides, the number of vehicles increased today and also some vehicles broke down on the highway, which intensified the tailback, he added.
