Bangladesh lowers age limit for Covid vaccination to 30 years

The government on Monday announced that the people aged 30 years and above were now eligible for registration for Covid vaccine on the Surokkha app with immediate effect.

‘Anyone aged 30 and above is now can register for Covid vaccination,’ Directorate General of Health Services’ director Md Shamsul Haque told New Age on Monday evening.

In a previous move, the government lowered the age limit to 35 years from 40 years which was set in the beginning of inoculation in February this year.

People aged 55 and above were only eligible for taking vaccines but the decision was revised a day after launching of the countrywide Covid vaccination campaign on February 8, the DGHS sources said.
