Atiqul threatens to dump garbage if people leave out animal waste

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Md Atiqul Islam has threatened to dump more garbage in front of the homes of citizens who leave out sacrificial animal waste.

He issued the warning while addressing an event in Dhaka’s Mohakhali on Tuesday.

The DNCC mayor said the sacrificial animal waste from the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha would be removed within 24 hours with the sincere cooperation of everyone, including local councillors.

A total of 11,508 employees of DNCC will be deployed during the special cleaning program.

The DNCC mayor said ward councillors have already distributed 850,000 waste bags, 50 metric tons of bleaching powder, and 1,005 cans of Savlon among city dwellers to help cleaning efforts.

He said a control room has been set up at Nagar Bhaban in Gulshan for the removal of sacrificial animal waste. The phone numbers of the control room are: 025614220, 09602222333, and 09602222334.
