The total number of Covid cases surge past 13 lakh as the country logged an additional Covid death of 241 people and 13,817 cases in 24 hours until Wednesday morning.
With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 21,638 and infections to 13,09,910 since it had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.
The daily test positivity rate is 27.91 per cent.
Among the deceased, 125 are male and 116 female are patients.
The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.
A total of 49,514 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 705 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 79,48,683 samples as of August 4.
In the past 24 hours, 16,112 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 11,41,157.
In case of the divisions, Dhaka logged the highest death toll of 93 and Chattogram logged 68 deaths.
