Khulna Division has logged 39 new Covid-related deaths in the 24 hours to Saturday morning, as the Delta variant of the deadly coronavirus continues to wreak havoc across the country.
According to the divisional health director's office, some 428 new infections were detected in 10 districts of the division during the period.
With the fresh figures, the total number of fatalities in the division has now reached 2,629, while the total cases mounted to 98,882, officials said.
On Thursday, 36 people died of Covid-19 in the division, while 761 people were found infected with the virus during the period.
In Khulna division, the first case of Covid-19 was detected in Chuadanga on March 19, 2020.
So far, 77,427 people have recovered from Covid-19 in the division.
