Golam Saklain Shithil, an additional deputy commissioner (DB Gulshan Division) was withdrawn from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch following allegations of unprofessional conduct with actress Pori Moni.
"ADC Golam Saklain has been restrained from all activities of the Detective Branch. He has been posted at the DMP's Public Order Management (West) Division," read a message sent by the DMP's media wing.
Contacted, DB Additional Commissioner AKM Hafiz Akhter said that Shithil will no longer work with the DMP's Detective Branch.
"He is now on leave. The commissioner sir will take decision on the issue," he said.
Several media outlets reported that ADC Shithil had engaged in unprofessional conduct with Pori Moni while supervising a case filed by the actress in June against five persons, including Nasir U Mahmud, former president of Uttara Club Limited.
Shithil, however, refuted the allegations while talking to the media.
