Bangladesh relaxes Covid restrictions from Aug 11

The government is going to relax the ongoing restrictions on public movement and activities from August 11 by reopening all the government and non-government offices, factories, shopping malls, markets, restaurants and hotels and resuming services of public transports.

The Cabinet Division issued a circular in this regard on Sunday.

It said that the shopping malls, markets and shops would remain open from 10:00am to 8:00pm while the restaurants and hotels would remain open from 8:00am to 10:00pm.

All government, non-government, autonomous, quasi-government offices, industries and factories, will be opened maintaining health rules, said the circular.

Transports on Roads, waterways and railways will run with passengers on all seats. Only half of the total transports will be allowed to run, it said.

The government relaxes Covid restriction when mass vaccination drive against Covid-19 was going on, and Bangladesh was witnessing 200 plus Covid deaths and around 10,000 cases almost every day.
