Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested US expatriate journalist Dr Kanak Sarwar’s sister Nusrat Shahrin Raka in Dhaka.
She was arrested from her residence in city’s Uttra area early Tuesday, said RAB-1 company commander Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Al Momen said.
The elite force claimed that an ordinary housewife Raka is the member of anti-state conspirators, propagandists and conspirators. She has been detained for these reasons.
Raka’s husband Nasir Uddin Majumder is an expatriate.
Process is underway to file a case against her on charges of anti-state activities on digital platforms.
On October 1, Raka lodged a general diary with Uttara Police Station mentioning that various posts were posting on Facebook faking her name and picture.
