Three people, including two children, drowned and at least four went missing after a trawler capsized in the Turag river at Amin Bazar point this morning.
Fire service divers salvaged the bodies of women and two children from the river, Nazma Akter, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence control room, confirmed it to this afternoon.
After being hit by a sand-laden cargo vessel, the trawler capsized in the river around 5:30 am in the Koilar Ghat area.
On information around 8:45 am, fire fighters rushed to the spot and started their rescue operations, said Lima Khanam, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.
