Trial run of vaccinating school students begins in Manikganj

Trial run of Covid-19 vaccination of school students, aged 12-17, began at Colonel Malek Medical College Hospital in Manikganj today.

A total of 120 students, of three schools, will receive Pfizer vaccine today.

Ten students each from Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman High School and Colonel Malek High School and 50 each from SK Government Girls' School and Manikganj Government High School will get the shots.

After vaccination, the recipients will be kept under observation for 7-14 days.

Yesterday, Prof Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam, director general of the Directorate General of Health Services, made the announcement in a Facebook Live that the health directorate will conduct the trial run today.
