Lowest remittance in 16 months

Bangladesh has seen its lowest remittance in 16 months in September. In last fiscal year 2020-21, Bangladesh received a record remittance of US$ 24.78 billion, and many saw it as a change towards the positive.

But the remittance started to dwindle after reaching its peak in last April, at US$ 2.07 billion till It dropped to US$ 1.72 billion in September. Specialists think unofficial means such as Hundi are to blame.
