Three injured in Chattogram Medical College BCL clash

At least three people were injured in a clash between two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League at Chattogram Medical College on Saturday over establishing supremacy on the campus.

The injured are Md Akib Hossain, 20, Mahfuzul Hoque, 23, and Naimul Islam, 20, students of CMC, said officials.

Two groups of BCL engaged in clashes over establishing supremacy at the hostel and college on Saturday 9:30am, said Jahidul Kabir, officer-in-charge of Panchlaish police station.

Three were injured in the clash. However, Akib was undergoing treatment at the hospital, the police officer said.

Additional police forces were deployed on the college campus after the clash, he said.

CMC principal Shahena Akter couldn’t be reached over mobile phone despite several attempts.
