Four die in 2 road accidents in Cumilla

Four people died in separate road accidents in Cumilla today.

Three CNG-run auto-rickshaw passengers, including a couple, died on spot when a Dhaka-bound bus hit the CNG from behind at Manoharganj area on Cumilla-Noakhali regional highway at 9:15am.

The deceased were identified as Ruhul Amin (65) and his wife Shefali Akhter (55), and Saima Muntaha (22). officer-in-charge of Laksham Highway Police Station.

Meanwhile around 3am today, a newspaper-carrying microbus collided with a covered van at Paduar Bazar railway gate area on Dhaka-Chattogram highway, leaving microbus driver Liton (55) dead on the spot, said Sub-inspector of Mainamati Highway Police Station, Khorshed Alam, quoting eyewitnesses.

Liton used to deliver copies of all the national dailies from Dhaka to Chattogram and Cox's Bazar every day. Because of the accident, many newspapers could not reach their destinations today, said the SI.
