LPG prices hiked again

LPG prices hiked again

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission on Thursday increased the prices of liquefied petroleum gas, with a 12-kilogram cylinder, widely used in households, by Tk 54 at the consumer level.

A cylinder of 12-kg LPG will now cost Tk 1,313, up from Tk 1,259 set on October 10.

The government on October 10 hiked the LPG price of a 12-kg cylinder by Tk 226.

The BERC said that the LPG cylinders sold in different categories were also adjusted and increased.

It said that the hiked price was applicable from Thursday.

The increase in the LPG prices comes as a fresh shock to people of the low-income and middle-income groups who are already bogged down by increasing food, transportation and medical costs.
