Sinha murder case: 7th phase of deposition underway

A Cox's Bazar court started recording statements of witnesses in seventh phase in Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan murder case.

District and Sessions Judges Court Judge Md Ismail Hossain started the day's procedure at 10am with recording statement of Sub-inspector of Teknaf Police Station Kamal Hossain.

The deposition will continue till November 17, our Cox's Bazar correspondent reports quoting Zia Uddin Ahmed, an assistant public prosecutor of the court.

The sixth phase of deposition ended on October 27.

In total, 59 witnesses have testified before the court so far. According to the charge sheet, there are in total 83 witnesses in the case.

Sinha was killed in police firing at a check post in Cox's Bazar's Teknaf upazila on July 31 last year.

His elder sister filed the murder case with Teknaf Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court against Pradeep, Nandadulal and several others on August 5 last year.
