The transport owners in Dhaka city on Tuesday took decision to charge half bus fare from the students from December 1.
The students will have to show their ID cards for availing the facility.
The half fare will be effective between 7:00am and 8:00pm.
The half fare will not be effective on government holidays, weekly holidays and seasonal holidays of the educational institutions.
The decision will be implemented only for Dhaka city, the leaders said.
The decision was taken by the leaders of Dhaka road transport owners association on November 29 at a meeting with 120 bus companies’ managing directors and chairmen and all workers’ organisations.
The decision was announced at a press conference held by the Dhaka Road Transport Owners’ Association at its headquarters in Dhaka.
The association general secretary Khandakar Enayet Ullah announced the decision.
