Bangladesh reports six more Covid deaths, 277 cases

Covid-19 claimed the lives of six more patient and infected 277 other people in Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Wednesday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 28,016 and infections to 15,78,288 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The daily test positivity rate is 1.35 per cent.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 20,549 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 848 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 1,10,41,406 as of December 8.

In the past 24 hours, 296 patients recovered from the viral disease totalling the recovery to 15,43,204.

Of the deceased, four were males and two were female patients.

Three of the deaths were reported in Dhaka division and one each was reported from Chattogram, Rajshahi and Sylhet divisions, the DGHS release said.
