Bangladesh reports six more Covid deaths,775 cases

Covid-19 claimed the lives of six more patients and infected 775 others in Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Tuesday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 28,087 and infections to 15,87,915 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The daily test positivity rate is 3.91 per cent.

Four of the deceased were males and the remaining two were female patients.

Three of the deaths were reported from Dhaka division, two in Chattogram and the remaining one was reported from Rajshahi divisions.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 19,838 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 852 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 1,15,65,650 samples as of January 4.

In the past 24 hours, 185 patients recovered from the viral disease totalling the recovery to 15,49,956.
