Bangladesh reports one more Covid death, 1,146 cases

Covid-19 claimed lives of one more patients and infected 1,146 others in Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Friday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 28,098 and infections to 15,91,093 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The daily test positivity rate is 5.67 per cent. The deceased was a female patient in Dhaka.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 20,204 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 852 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 1,16,30,540 samples as of January 7.

In the past 24 hours, 170 patients recovered from the viral disease totalling the recovery to 15,50,538.
