Three madrasa students killed in road crash in Bagerhat

Three madrasa students were killed and two others were injured when a truck hit a three-wheeler in Bagerhat.

The incident was reported from Khulna-Mongla highway in the early hours of Sunday, said police.

The three students died on spot after the truck rear ended the vehicle they were travelling on, said OC Mohammad Ali of the local Katakhali police.

They were identified as 25-year-old Abdullah, 12-year-old Abdul Gafur and 17-year-old Salauddin – students of Hakimpur Madrasa in Bagerhat Sadar Upazila

Two others have been hospitalized in critical conditions.

The police are yet to seize the truck.

Maulana Ahiduzzaman, a teacher at Hakimpur Madrasa, said that the students were on their way back from Khulna after attending a conference.
