Bangladesh reports three more Covid deaths, 1,491 cases

Covid-19 claimed the lives of three more patients and infected 1,491 others in Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Sunday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 28,102 and infections to 15,93,700 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The daily test positivity rate is 6.78 per cent.

Two of the deceased are females and the remaining one is a male patient.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 21,740 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 852 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 1,16,71,795 samples as of January 9.

In the past 24 hours, 217 patients recovered from the viral disease totalling the recovery to 15,50,538.

Two of the deaths were reported in Chattogram division and the other was reported in Dhaka during the 24 hours ending Sunday 8:00am.
